Ben Z Cooper is a multidisciplinary creative producer and director.
After years behind the camera in Vancouver’s film industry, he co-founded HFour Studio, one of the early voices in technology-enabled art. From 2012 to 2021, the studio built large-scale immersive installations for clients across North America and Asia, always with an eye on public engagement.
In 2020, he partnered with Vancouver Mural Festival to launch VMF Winter Arts, Canada’s first open-air augmented reality festival. Conceived as a pandemic pivot, it brought together more than 100 artists over three years to create AR and physical works in many forms, drew tens of thousands of people into the streets during the coldest, darkest stretch of a West Coast winter, and went on to win awards.
Alongside the art, Ben has lived on the commercial side of the screen. Through the LED and digital display company 10net, he has taken large-format LED projects from concept to completion.
Ben is now focused on permanent installations and creative consulting, helping teams build immersive experiences that last.
