Motherboard Milk

Motherboard Milk explores the intersection of technology, family heritage, and nostalgia through the traditional craft of Jacquard weaving.

The piece brings together two defining icons of my heritage: my grandmother's Swiss cow-patterned textiles and the Apple II computer I first encountered at school. One represents the warmth and familiarity of family tradition; the other, my early fascination with computers and the digital world.

Using Jacquard weaving, I explored how these two worlds could coexist. Traditional Swiss motifs merge with pixel-inspired patterns, while reflective threads evoke the intricate circuitry and manufacturing processes of early computers.

Part of an ongoing exploration of heritage and technology, Motherboard Milk reflects on how memories and traditions evolve as they pass through new materials, machines, and generations.
